Time For A Winter Ski Vacation
Posted March 6, 2010 – 12:54 pm in: ExerciseWhile many people think of summer as vacation time, the winter is a perfect time to get away from the daily routine and take a ski vacation. Proper planning and packing can make that winter getaway even more enjoyable.
While there are many people who are able to take a one-day ski vacation and be back home at work the next day, others must plan to take a few days to travel to a resort for skiing. Either way, without the correct equipment, your winter vacation can become a miserable experience.
The use of ski helmets has become popular within the past few years, especially for children. A Giro ski helmet will protect your head or that of your child in the event of an accident. This protection can prevent a serious brain injury or even death, and is truly important for both children and adults.
When you are out on the slopes and enjoying yourself, it is easy to lose track of time. This is especially true on overcast days when fresh snow is falling and the sun is hidden behind the clouds. You may want to be sure you pack your waterproof black sport watch. The sport watch is able to stand the cold weather, moisture and shock that are all a part of skiing.
When you are finished for the day and ready to head into town to grab dinner, remember that even though you have left the slopes there may be snow on the ground in the resort town. Your brown boots will keep your feet warm and dry during the trip. A boot drier will have them warm and dry for the next morning when you head out to breakfast.
Ski jackets and bibs help to keep everyone both warm and dry. When the day is over, they should be hung so that they will be dry for the next day. If you are fortunate enough to be in a condo with a washer and drier, they can be tossed in the drier and will be ready to go in just a few minutes.
Make sure that you have your skis tuned up and serviced before you leave town. You will often find a better price on service and you are not going to be out of commission while waiting for skis to be worked on in the shop.
If seasonal depression is making its way into your life, the exercise offered by a day or week of skiing may be helpful. In addition, you are likely to get some of that needed bright sunlight during your day at the slopes. Why not plan to take a winter break and enjoy a ski vacation with your family?
